    Care Home Day

    Posted by Lillyburn Care Home

Care Home Day is an opportunity for care homes to showcase some of the amazing work they do, bust myths and recognise the role they play in communities.  The theme this year was “Care Community” and care homes were encouraged to consider doing some sort of virtual activity during the day between residents, staff, families and local community.

We joined in the fun by organising a virtual quiz for relatives, staff who are still working and those who are shielding, members of local churches and of course our residents. After some initial technical difficulties and a few people not being able to join us, our quiz was a great success.

Nicola one of our relatives said “it was a pleasure to join in the quiz today”

Debbie Barr, one of our staff nurses who is currently shielding was delighted to get involved in the quiz, she has been missing everyone and said “it was great to be part of today, I really enjoyed seeing familiar faces”

Marie Galligan said, “This year Care Home Day was a great opportunity for care homes to showcase the creative ways they have adapted to the restrictions they have been facing and kept contact with local community and families.”
