Chinese New Year

Staff went great lengths to ensure our residents had an authentic Chinese New Year experience with a themed afternoon to celebrate the year of the pig.
Ladies and gentlemen of Stanely Park helped to make Chinese lanterns for display whilst they listened and sang along to Chinese music. Chef Karen took part in the preparations for the event and made a delicious platter of popular Chinese food such as spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken and a traditional Chinese New Year rice cake.
Betty Anderson let us know that she loved to experience the different tastes and Glady’s was seen to thoroughly enjoy the homemade kumquat jam with her prawn crackers. Chef Karen said “I love catering for our themed afternoons, especially when I know that the residents will find it exciting.”
