Ready, Steady, Cook!

Cooking club brings residents together around a table to cook, chat and learn about new foods as well as enjoying the fruits of their labour. Today residents enjoyed making a super sweet Strawberry Gateau, Chefs John and Matthew support residents to get involved whilst socialising and enjoying the delicious flavours of their creations. Cooking club members reminisce and chat about their experience and plan treats for the following week.
Head Chef John said “cooking club serves a therapeutic purpose, it encourages residents to improve their dexterity using their hands working with the ingredients.”
Marie Galligan, Practice Development Co-ordinator commented on the social aspect of the group – “residents have the chance to get together, share experiences and reminisce about what they enjoy cooking and eating. The sky is the limit!”
