Jeans for Genes Day

On Friday 23rd September Birdston Daycare Centre, Kirkintilloch had a fundraising day for Jeans for Gene’s day. All staff wore their jeans to work and paid £2 for the privilege and £1 for breakfast, kindly made by the Birdston Nursing Home kitchen. A cake sale and tombola were held to raise some funds as well as some pie slinging... the morning staff were great sports and took a few ‘pies’ to the face! Not to miss out on the fun, some clients felt brave and took part too!
After lunch our Birdston’s Got Talent show kicked off, with staff and service users eagerly taking part. After a lot of discussion between the judges, Cheryl, Nicole and of course Simon, they decided the most talented person of the day was William Campbell, who was over the moon with his Clydesdale Horse ornament which he’d had his eye on for weeks! Who needs a million pound record deal...?
Many laughs and lots of fun were had throughout the day and £100 raised for Jeans for Genes in the process. Well done everyone!
