Mosswood Partners with Nordoff and Robbins for Music Therapy Programme
Mosswood Care Home is proud to announce its collaboration with Nordoff and Robbins, a leading charity in music therapy. Following a successful pilot programme last year, Mosswood has committed to funding a 12-month music therapy programme with Nordoff and Robbins, starting in June.
This initiative aims to bring the transformative benefits of music therapy to our residents, enriching their lives and well-being.
Nordoff and Robbins is renowned for its pioneering work in using music as a therapeutic tool, reaching vulnerable individuals across the country. Mosswood is honoured to join forces with this esteemed charity to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents.
Under this programme, Laura from Nordoff and Robbins conducts weekly music therapy sessions at Mosswood, comprising both group sessions and personalised interactions. These sessions provide residents with opportunities for self-expression, relaxation, and emotional connection through music.
The profound effects of music on emotional well-being are well-documented, and Nordoff and Robbins' expertise in this field ensures that our residents receive tailored and evidence-based interventions. Moreover, Mosswood's participation contributes to ongoing research, furthering the understanding of music therapy's efficacy in care home settings.
By investing in music therapy, Mosswood is prioritising the holistic well-being of our residents and fostering a nurturing environment where they can thrive. We are excited about the positive impact this partnership will have on our community and look forward to witnessing the transformative power of music in our care home.
